that will leave you falling for fall views (you must check these out)!

The weather is changing, summer is cluing up and were all looking for some Sunday adventures. As the weather turns colder, a long hike up the Gros Morne mountains or atop of Blomidon mountain might not be your cup of tea. But taking a drive to visit the scenic views our little corner of the world has to offer, just might be!

Before venturing out on your adventure, you’ll want to ensure your car is in tip-top shape. Remember to check that your tires have good tread wear, you have operational wiper blades, you have a spare tire and the necessary equipment, an emergency kit and that your car battery is in good shape (don’t forget your booster cables just in case)!

Gros Morne National Park

Gros Morne National Park is a place to go whether you’re heading out for a Sunday drive or a weekend getaway. There are so many spectacular sites to see the entire drive along the winding coastline and mountain’s edge. At every turn in the road you will experience “…fjords and moody mountains tower(ing) above a diverse panorama of beaches and bogs, forests and barren cliffs” (Parks Canada, 2020).

Woody Point, NL

Headed in the same initial direction of Gros Morne National Park, you take a left turn off The Viking Trail and head toward some of the most incredible sightlines of the Gros Morne Mountains in the backdrop. You will find yourself seemingly back in time among the locals, the historic buildings, the craft stores and in the traditional Newfoundland restaurants. The view and local hospitality are worth the drive to Woody Point, NL!

Bottle Cove, NL

Have you heard of this hidden gem? Bottle cove is nestled away beyond Lark Harbour about an hour outside of Corner Brook. You crest the hill in Lark Harbour, pass the local convenience store and restaurant overlooking the barren of the land and find yourself among what seems to be the edge of the earth. While there are second-to-none views that create a perfect setting for a picnic or fire, Bottle Cove is also home to many hiking trails too!

Let us know what you think of these unique locations. Have any destination suggestions? Post them below. We would love to hear about your favourite locations in Newfoundland and Labrador!
